Check the fuel pressure regulator. The diaphragm can burst and suck fuel into the manifold. Look/smell for fuel on the small vacuum hose. Replacements are about $40 for a new one.

Ok so it turns out that the problem is a bad injector that is stuck open at all times. We tested the connector with a noid to make sure that the injector was bad and it was not a pcm problem. I still find it hard to believe that the amount of fuel that was exiting the exhaust is from only 1 injector being stuck open, but apparently it is the problem. So im gonna order a new one from fordpartsonline.com. I need a new upper intake manifold gasket as well, does anyone know where i can get one of those?

How did you determine which injector with scan tool or the old fashion way pulled them all out?
Thanks
Paul

Maybe he used something like an EFI quickprobe?

When i took off the UIM you could see that the long runner opening of the LIM was filled to the top with fuel. Also when I turned the key to the acc position and heard the fuel pump prime the lines you could see the fuel being added to the #1 cylinder, which should not be happening. SO basically that meant that the injector was stuck open. I ordered a new injector from a local ford dealership for $81 and then new LIM and UIM gaskets from Advance Auto Parts for like $40. When I pick them up Tues and drop them in i shall let evertone know the results.

oil change would be recommended also, fuel may have washed out the rings and got into the oil

Not only recommended but a MUST!

I hope the piston rings or other components are not damaged.
Hydrolock is not a good thing.

Then neither is raw fuel through catlytic converters and O2's.

Also it would be a good time to pull and check all the plugs.
Maybe just replace them if they have over 30k on them. Better safe then sorry and it's only ~$25 for a set of DP's.

If that much fuel was going into the engine, the engine would seize (fluid cant be compressed like air can, and by the sound of it, you'd have cylinders full of gas). There is something else going on here.

Why no shudder, you would think that cylinder wouldn't fire and the balance would be thrown off, before the stuff ran out the tailpipe...

Weird and thank God no BOOM!

Change the oil like they said and plug the new ejector in and let us know how it went!

Thanks for sharing! Hope all that raw fueldidn't do too much damage? I wonder how often an injector goes bad like this and was dirty type sticking or something in the coil/electrical seized?

Paul
