I've not run across accounts of failures here in the last two years, but perhaps I missed them.

He's not said how it got bent. Perhaps it failed, but all the troubles I've seen so far have been from people not installing/removing them correctly (especially the DMD) or damaging them, rather than the part itself failing on it's own.

Perhaps ottawanker could let us know how it got bent.

Oh, and by the way, the reason I switched to the DMD was because my original crank pulley was bent, and making some bad noises.

I really wish I knew how my old pulley got bent, but I have no idea. I guess it could've gotten hit by a rock or something, I doubt it failed on its own, but hey, anything is possible.

As far as I know, the pulley that was on the car was the pulley that Ford put on when the car was built. Since then it has had 9 years and 170,000 kms of abuse, and that may have had something to do with it, but it looked to be in good shape, just bent.

Well...the damper wasn't the problem.

Here is the million dollar question...On the bottom rear engine mount; if the center piece of rubber looks like it turned with in the mount, could that cause a vibration? In other words; is the rubber part of the mount free to spin?

FYI I will be starting a new thread with this same question, I need to know fast.
thanks
Nick
