no actually, I've been wanting to do it for a while now, just never really gotten aroudn to doing it. maybe next spring or something. to late now as *cringes* winters coming

well, maybe my old pig will pass emissions come January. Failing that perhaps I'll be able to entice someome to come do it for me (building a house with 3car garage instead of basement haha) in exchange for use of nice warm place to wrench and snacks.  If she (the 'Tour) fails, will have to get a hot-smog and then crush it or part it out in 2yrs, there is no cost-benefit in repairing a 9 yr old car. Could probably get more for the leather interior than it's worth complete, not to mention 2 full sets of new rubber - winter/summer.

FWIW, mine passed (last year) with no pre-cats and a dead (but un-gutted) main.
They are tightening the standards each year though...

Snafu... I've heard suggestions that it might happen (a phase out), but 'till then, the last solid info I've seen mentioned that the standards were to be tightened each year. The Drive Clean website doesn't have much to say either way - have you got any details? My cat-less test experience was pretty wierd - just failed the NO2 test on the first go round, then a couple of weeks later with no real work done on the car it passed w/o any problems. I suspect results like mine are why the process may get scrapped eventually. Cheers, -- Terry McG

naw, I'm less informed then you. I just remembered hearing/reading that they were phasing it out by more then one source.

I passed with no pre-cats and one 3" main cat (carsound cat).
It actually passed with flying colours! The only thing I did was drive it around for at least 20 min before arriving to the test center. They turned the car off and it sat there for about 15 min but I still did really well.
