I've come to the conclusion that I'm sick of getting dripped on when it rains. What I want is smoked plastic, with no tape or drilling, and with a slim profile. I've been looking around at vent shades, and found what I want: AutoVentShade part # 194604. The problem is, I can't seem to get them anywhere.. ??

Got mine at Murray's. I think I've also got them at Autozone. I've put them on five different cars in the past few years. They work great, heck you can open your window a couple inches even in a driving rainstorm. And on the Contour, it fits inside the channel. There is tape but again, it's on the inside. On some cars you have to stick it onto the outside of the window frame directly onto the paint. For once we get something that fits our cars better than others.

I have 'em on my SVT & love 'em . I wouldn't have gotten them if they attatched to the outside . I got them at National Auto . When you get them , to make the install easier , remove the sail panels and the mirrors (not as hard as it sounds ). You'll be glad you did , it makes the install go very easy (rather than bending them to get 'em in there) .

Thanks for the quick replies, fellas.
Wa2tuff, are you telling me that the regular p.n. 94604 goes in the channel? If so, then I dont mind the tape as much. Especially if they don't stick out from the side of the car more than 1" or 2".

I actually work at Auto Zone. I can get the 94604's all day long, and with discount, but the 194604's are not available through us, even by special order. I'd really like to have the slimmer profile, but I am starting to wonder how much difference that little 1 at the beginning of the p.n. makes..

Hmmm ... I don't remember what part # mine are , I've had 'em quite a while (couple years now) . I guess I can look around to see if I wrote it down somewhere , but I doubt I did . Mine don't stick out very far from the window . Maybe you can stick your finger between the glass & the visor ... maybe . I'll see what I can come up with for ya .
You can see pics of mine in THIS FOLDER , just look around .
