In process of installing the MSDS Vortech spec headers in my SVT. Knew about the oil cooler clearence problem, so bought a sandwich adapter to add air-to-oil cooler. After the oem water-to-oil cooler was removed, discovered that direct replacement is not possible! The oem unit use an extra long oil filter boss. It's about 3-4 inches long, 1.5 x 22mm threads on both ends and an o-ring in the middle. Had to get oil filter boss from regular (non-SVT) Duratec. Not sure of part # for this, I,m getting work done at a local shop and they ordered the part. Just be advised that it is required. Should be readily available, as all (as far as I know) late model Fords use the same 1.5x22mm filters. I'm hoping to get car back in time for local SVTOA dyno day this sat. Getting Quaife and clutchmasters Stage3 clutch also. Next up: HD axles/cv joints.

I'm no wuss! I work 50-60 hrs/wk @ nite. I could've done the headers, but since I was getting the Quaife and clutch installed and the mech offered to do the headers at the same time, Why not?!? Haven't got an oil cooler yet. I just plugged the oil lines on the sandwich adapter and will do the cooler later. (And I WILL do that myself)
