As title states, I have a 2000csvt adn would like to lower it anywhere from 1"-1.5" all around. I currently have 225/55s on the car so wheel gap is a little less. I am looking for some recommendations on what you guys and gals have on your rides and how you like the way it looks and the way it handles.

thanks
dan

I agree. You're an idiot because: 1) you went so fast on an open road, and 2) you came here and posted about it. And like Horse said, who cares about maxing through 5th. It's meant as an overdrive gear, not a race gear.

I wonder the same here. Are there any lowering kits that are not TOO LOW? Im looking for a .5 to .75 inch lowered because I have the Mirko Splitter on mine and wouldnt want any damage on it with something too low.

Dan, get the BAT kit for your needs. New guy, try Intrax springs with new struts( brand depends on how much money you have to spend and how comfy you want your ride). Or if both of you guys have some money to spend, go GC w/ Konis so you can adjust everything the way you want it. Just don't forget the camber kits whichever way you go....

Edit: Dmase, I just saw you had 225 55s!!! Change those before you do anything for god's sake. Not only does it look horrible, but it's throwing off your gauges a good bit.

BAT kit = ~1" drop
Nice upgrade from stock with lift and dive virtually gone.

H&R's with Bilsteins = ~1.3" drop
Best performance out there without going coil overs and insane drops

alright I will rid myself of the 255/55 and put back on a set of 215/50 then lower about 1 inch more than before. I will look into teh suggestions and see what happens.

thanks

so, what are peoples opinions on the Koni Sport Suspension Kit. Koni pairs a 40mm lowering spring with their adjustable sport dampers. Better or worse than Bilstein + H&R? how about B&G springs with Koni's?

I just finished (yesterday) having BAT springs and Koni struts installed on a 1999 SVT. I also was looking for only a moderate lowering. Front is 3/8" lower and the rear is 3/4" lower. I really like the bigger drop in the rear. Got rid of most of the "cat in heat" look. I have read that the springs will settle further with time. I have not pushed the handling yet, but, as DemonSVT said, the most striking change so far has been in the reduction of "lift and dive". That should help with your splitter up front.

got the Bilstein/Bat spring combo. the rear dropped a bit more than the front but overall i think i got around 3/4 inch drop in the front and the rear is about 1 inch

ride is nice, it seems bumpy at times because the bilsteins are very aggressive.

I reccomend them for those who dont want to go too low.
