So, do they open up the engine?

Any worries with my aftermarket Cat?

Open Air filter?

I'm registering in the next few weeks and getting smogged in San Jose this week? Any EASY shops?

Definitely go back to the stock induction system. As for the aftermarket cat, as long as it does it's job it won't matter. If they ask about the cat, which they won't because they don't put the car on a lift or anything, tell them you hit a rock and it mangled the stock one. It is illegal to change the cat unless it is a certain age or it was damaged. Just make sure your stock induction system is back on or it will fail visual automatically. Good luck, mine's in February.

if u can put ur stock cat back on, put it on, cause mine wouldnt pass with the high flow cat. And put ur stock air box too. NEw oil engine, and maybe spark plugs. Also run it around for at least 30 min on the fwy. I did all that and i pass smog, even though i have my pre cats gutted hehehehe

You may want to go down to the smog shop and see for yourself just what they do on the cars.

Mr. froge is right, its the only real way you can prepair yourself.

All the infomation i have givin is correct, but it is possible i forgot something...next time you at a local smog shop, take a look if they are doing a smog while your there, and ask them the procedure...best way to do it.
