The ATI 9600xt is a good choice. So is the ATI Raedon 9800 pro, but it's a bit pricey still. Point is, stay away from the Nvidia cards for a little while. They run hot & loud and are outperformed by comparably priced ATI products. I just bought my first ATI product ever... In the past I've always heard bad things about their installations & drivers, but they seem to have solved those problems, quite well I must add.
I picked up a new ATI Raedon 9700 Pro for under $150 on Ebay. It was OEM surplus & didn't have installation drivers & stuff, but I downloaded those easy enough. The card freakin' ROCKS! It has analog, digital, and S-video outputs. It is still billed as the fasted analog vid card in the world. If you're running a CRT or digital flat screen, consider it since it's in your price range.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
