Sorry, but a 9800 non-pro would be a waste of money. If you are intent on a 9800, get the pro. The extra preformance is worth the money. with that being said go with an nvidia card if you are going to play a bunch of doom3. Most reviews are indicating that nvidia cards are better then ati cards due to the way that they work internally. I like the first nvidia card that was linked to. I have a 9600 pro in my desktop and it runs just okay with a 2800+ and 2gb dual channel DDR. It doesn't run at all on my laptop... 1.5 centrino with intel graphics =)
