1. That's not true though.
There are both 2 bolt and 3 bolt flange OEM Y-pipes.
Also there are 2 different flange sizes for the 2 bolt flanges.
All SVT's have a 2.5" flange and all 3-bolts do as well.
However all stock Y-pipes crush the pipes into the flange so they must be "modified" to be worth a damn.
2. SHO/BAT design eliminates the U-bend used to help tune the pulses at low and mid rpm ranges.
The MSDS retains the U-bend but it's more of a V-bend since it's not well built at that point.
No aftermarket Y-pipe has a heat shield like the stock unit. ALWAYS wrap an aftermarket pipe where it goes around the oil pan!
All have a 2.5" flange.
