I'd be up for that--I just don't want to have to drive around looking for people.

I would do that but when I talked to Roger, he was talking about taking an hour to go 1 mile and having to do that with the heater on so the car wouldn't overheat.

In a Contour?! If so, there are bigger problems you need to worry about other than where you're going to watch the WDC at.
I was just going by what Roger told me. I've not had to do it myself.

Your car won't overheat. It's just traffic, and this August hasn't even been that hot out at all. You'll be fine. Maybe Roger was talking about some cars he used to own?

Ryan is right, I was talkin' about my GN, not the Contour. I haven't driven out on Woodward on the actual day of the cruize for sometime now.
MCConnection- your talkin' about people showing up early to hold down a spot, I tried that before and the guys don't show up early enough and when I mean early I don't mean my early (5:00 a.m.), I mean like 6-7:00 a.m. The other thing is that jerk thats been out there the last couple years in a row. The guy parked his Camper/Trailer and trailered piece of crap 69' Camaro behind where we parked and he [censored] me out for having my hood up He said I was blocking his view , like I have a 70' Monte Carlo with a SIX FOOT HOOD! Theres safety in number and with more people there not only could we have a good meet for a change, scare off the jackass there but show everyone why the SE MI CEG was #1 again

Roger, I have a collapsable steel baton I can lend you for the weekend. Even without you talking it seems to relay the message that you're in charge and your hood will remain up.

Assuming it was the same as a few years ago, it's the Mercedes Benz dealership on Woodward. It's about 1/4 mile south of 16 mile on the north bound side of the road. It's impossible to miss. The parking lot in front of the dealership is like all parking lots along Woodward, as it runs parallel to the road and has a good number of spots.
As for the guy bitching about Roger being there with his hood up, unlike many other places on Woodward, Mercedes doesn't charge money to park your car(s) there, so anyone has the right to be there, hood up and all.

Actually its on the E side of Woodward just S of 16 mile or Quarten as its called over on that side of town The dealership is Bloomfield Mercedes-Benz or Mercedes of Bloomfield for those using mapquest. Besides wanting to go to WV that weekend, my Dad may have to take his better half to the hosptial where she'll have to stay for 5-7 days, talk about a "last minute decision" ...stay tuned!
