I don't dispute Halliburton/its subsidiaries are the best entities to do certain jobs. I don't even really have a problem with Cheney's past history with the firm, although his initial reluctance to sever ties was a little sketchy.
But I will point out the original contract to extinguish oil fires was no-bid and worth a few Bill. As has been stated, these types of contracts deserve scrutiny.
