also sometimes when im sitting still it's hard to get the car to go in first or reverse. it only does it some times and i have to kinda force it to go in gear. it's not like it just does it on a hill or something like that. it seems to be at random times. 
If you'll put it in a second gear first and than in to 1st will it go in easy ? May be linkage out of adjustment.
