Well, it seems as if my no muffler mod has given me some decent gains. After many trips to the drag strip, the best run I could ever pull was a high 15.4. And I never could back that up. I have since been able to run 15.5-15.7s, with more common runs in the 15.6-15.8 range.
Well, last Friday at Atlanta Dragway, I was able to change all of that. I Was firing off consistant 15.5s and 15.6s over 7 runs. I then let the car cool off and iced the intake for about an hour...I knew I could go lower. The intake was cool to the touch just before my last run where I put down a 15.302 @ 89.27 with a .685 r/t and a 2.3xx 60' time. Definately closer to the range I want the car to be in. I would reccommend the exhaust mod AND icing the intake for those looking to shave their e/t. Icing the intake is very effective, and I will now ice my intake down before each run.
Just thought you might be interested in this info. 15.3 is not a bad time with just a custom intake and a custom exhaust. No chip, no UDPs or anything else. Cool. I'm sure someone out there has done better with less, but Atlanta Dragway is a notoriously slow track.
