That's great to hear!!!

I definitely know the feeling when you fix a nagging problem and then the car is just running so nicely.

Thanks for the good info, everybody. I'm trying to sort things out. I don't think my secondaries are sticking yet, as I just started seeing the symptoms. I'll clean things up when I put my EH'd UIM on, just in case.

However, in another thread I read this info:
Thoughts?

I waited to run through a tank of gas before I posted this to insure there was an improvement.
I finally broke down and replaced my fuel pump with a new Ford unit. I had the usual problem - fuel starvation in turns with less than 1/2 tank of gas. It has been this way since new in August 2000.
I have been in the tank 3 times over the years. It did not look like a bad pump - just bad design as far as fuel pick-up is concerned.
Well, the wait was worth it. Ford has at long last produced a modified or "improved" pump unit. The Motorcraft pump/sender unit part # FPS192 is replaced by #289.
The entire canister/pickup design has been changed. In addition you have to perform a minor modification to the tank bottom to install the pump. The new pump suspends from the tank top rather than mounting on the bayonet lock on the bottom of the tank. This is all spelled out in the pump "kit" that comprises the FPS289 part.

Is the FSVT's pickup improved, too? I was just about to order the FSVT pump...

What's the price difference???

If you are not planning forced induction the stock pump's rating will be more then enough for you.

The SVTF pump is a 255 l/hr unit and is only around $80. It's a no brainer upgrade for folks wanting over 250 at the wheels.

Is this a necessary thing for everyone, or are you the special case? Just wondering if I need to tack one of these on my order.

Yes you will need a new gasket for your contour the original gasket is over expanded and will not seal properly if you try to reuse it. the green gasket that comes with the
fsvt fuel pump is to small and will not fit. i had the part # but i tossed it when installing my new pump.

the fsvt pump is great i love it.

You do know you can get the SVTF assembly for about $90 shipped right?

Either Bill J or Ford Parts online...
