Though I'm sure it's come up before, I can't say I remember it. Has anyone tried, or thought to chop a good sized whole in our hoods, create a custom airbox that both goes into the original tubing (or aftermarket, doesn't matter) and wraps completely around an open air type element, thus only receiving air from the orignal inlet and this new whole, very similar to a GM Ram ait setup. The obvious problem is willing to cut into your hood and being able to fashion a nice clean looking scoop to go over it. Maybe we could even steal the Camaro SS scoop, finding something already fabricated that would look apporpriate with our Contours contours (shameful and delibeter) would be the best way to go. Then seal soem sort of home grown plastic mounting under the hood, edge that in some dense foam or rubber, then create that air box to wrap the filter element, edge that in dense foam or rubber and bam you got a few extra cold horses... Right? Besides how BA would that look on the Tours, not to mention the sound difference, you might as well put a mic inside the intake and mount a speaker to your hood. Ever hear the difference between a Trans Am without Ram Air and a Trans Am with? Ooooh baby, big difference, I nearly wet myself when I heard that Ram Air barking out commands. Duratec's sound pretty authoritative, and having that loudspeaker to the world would sound pretty damn nice I'd bet.
