Stopped by there this afternoon to see if my car was done (it was supposed to be) and found out that the fuel tank that had been pulled out of an Explorer, I think, fell onto a battery and WHOOOMPF. Entire back end of the Explorer is blackened. No one was injured, nine fire trucks showed up, and operations there were shut down for something like 3-4 hours.

Ha ha. It's been a series of unfortunate events, some of which no one could control, really. I'm sure it would have been done today if it weren't for the barbecue action 8 bays down.

Monday...crossing my fingers.

Actually the fuel tank was out of a sable. The "technician" pulled the tank and left it on the trans jack. Rule #1 of gas tanks PUT IT ON THE GROUND! The crazy part of all of this is that their was a battery directly under the tank that fell off the jack. Everyone knows when you touch positive to negative it sparks, well the tank was metal, can you say KABOOM? We tried to contain it, but it was futile within 15 seconds the entire shop was full of smoke. So I ran for my toolbox to roll it out of there, but there was too much smoke(brand new snap-on box). When it was all said and done a sable, taurus, a conversion van, and a brand new 04 expedition were toast, along with about 20,000 dollars in diag tools(that was in the taurus)Geez, jeb are we ever going to fix your car?

Wow, I didn't realize it was that widespread.

Who's the hot blonde in the tight shirt? She came after me for walking around unescorted back there after Russ sent me back to look for you.

See you Monday?

Weird thing happened...Chris hasn't shown up at work since the day of the fire. Incidentally, my car still isn't finished, although the service writer said he thought it'd be done today.

Chris? You out there?

Chris isn't working there anymore I don't think. I met him the other day. I think he said he left them.

You gotta be kidding me. Left them with my car on the rack and the subframe dropped?

Nope, I ain't kidding. I met him just yesterday and I'm sure he said that he quit Jerry's and is going to another dealership. I also think he mentioned not being finished with your car either. I'll see if I can find more info for you.
