How long did that swap take? Did it require a lot of fabrication? Did you have two cars to work with? Just curious. It doesn't seem like it would be that bad, but every time it's mentioned on the board there are several members who deem it nearly impossible.

Well nothings impossible with enough money. I wouldn't do it unless your atx was dead like mine was. Also I got the tranny cheap off ebay from a wrecking yard for $124 shipped with a 1yr warranty. Got my clutch from a friend who works at All Trans Parts in Protland so I only paid $180 for the clutch and slave cylinder. I got the pedals/flywheel/linkage/side mount/driver's axle from a U-Pull-It in Damascas for $110. I got the jack shaft and starter from a G&R for $55 out of a 2000. I used the current subframe and factory rubber mounts for the atx bolted to the subframe then I just fabbed the metal brakets that attached between the rubber mounts and the tranny and I fabbed a mount for rod linkage (95-96 tranny uses rod linkage). Surfa ced the flywheel for $35. I also got the mtx computer out of a 96 at Pick a part in Albany for $30. Anyway it is pretty straight forward I didn't realize that the CPS had a different mount so the car didn't start at first and the only fix was to either take the whole tranny off again or break the current CPS mount and fab one, I did the second option in about an hour. The MTX computer isn't necessary to run, but your CEL will be on with 4 tranny codes and your OD light will flash. Aslo my engine dowels were too big for the tranny so that took some drilling to make fit right. It took a week between the time I drove it into the garage and when I drove it out. 3 evenings after work doing the swap and 4 days trying to figure out why my CPS wasn't working and 1hr to fix the CPS. I think I did everything for under $550. If your ATX is good I don't recommend it.
