i got a 96 contour. my heater/ and a/c blower switch only worked in the fast speed due to the dial not turning... took it apart and found that a ball bearing fell out of place and into a grove inside the switch and it was toast..
cost about $14.00 at the ford dealer for me.. but if you switch moves then it might be the resistor pack where the resistor wires for the slower speeds are burned and broken so they dont work, and it only works via going through the solid wire for the fast speed.. you might have a burned resistor pack????
either way if your car is still in the warranty stage you should not have to pay for either as they are both covered..
