I doubt it, it's probably the switch itself, but you never know. Best bet is to spend the $8 on the resistor itself just to make sure.

damn i didnt know this was a common problem, mine is doing the same thing, but tonight i drop it off to get the final warantee checkup and get that fixed,,,,only 21 miles till my warantee says bye bye
