Yes they will. I replaced 3rd gear because it was the only one that was worn. Kept the rest.

Are you talking shifter forks or syncros.
Revised syncros will not fit the older transmissions without replacing the entire synchronizer shaft assembly. That's going by the actual Ford part numbers.
There is a "newer" part number that will (used 98 - early 00 IIRC) but it's not the "revised" syncros we all talk about.
The shift forks I couldn't tell you. I know the shifter tower is different for rod shift MTX's but do not know if the forks changed.
I do know the main fork you want to change is the 1-2 fork. The "Focus" one uses roller bearings. (Never came in a Contour)
The other 2 forks were "revised" with scrapers that help oil the synchronizers, shafts, and forks better. They are a nice upgrade. (Came in the revised MTX's)
Changing all the forks is just a very wise maintenance decision because they ride on babbitt material and it builds up (thickens) and causes extra wear and slow shifting over time. It's only like $50 for all 3 and that's just peanuts compared to the cost of MTX maintenance!
If you don't upgrade everything you can when you have the tranny apart you are just hurting yourself in the long run.

I'm talking shift forks. They will work. Not talking revised synch's.

sorry I mean syncros are bad for sure, not sure about forks ,I heard good things about the new forks.
BTW what's the passibility to replace the MTX with a auto tranny(100% stop and go driving here)is it do able? if electroic control will be a problem can I just bypass all of it?

Yes but a ton of work. You'd need a new PCM as well as a different subframe.

You shouldn't need upgraded forks. Replacement forks maybe, but not upgraded. IIRC, The 95 MTX Forks have needle bearings in them. They were removed in late 96. and were replaced in 2000. From late 96 - 99, the forks were the slide type. No bearings inside at all.

Only the 1-2 fork has roller bearings in 95.
It came back a little better in late 01 or early 02 on the Focus.
The other 2 forks were revised for the "revised" MTX's.
Those did make most if not all 2000 SVT's and a few late model 00 CDW-27 MTX cars. (mainly Cougars) Nearly every 2000 Contour/Mystique was an ATX & all after about 3/00 were fleet Zetec/ATX's.
The other 2 forks should be changed because they ride on babbitt material.
Another question is can you even get the 95 roller bearing 1-2 fork anymore? IIRC it's an deleted part number replaced by the babbitt style fork part number.
The man to talk to on rod style MTX's is definitely Terry.
