Rush has been calling him Lurch for 10 years or so. Perfectly fitting.

I'm surprised that Bush' lead here is only 10% after Kerry's "I'd fight a more sensitive war" comment, did you "D's" here that, a "more sensitive war", whats this guy doing, watching Oprah and Dr.Phil

That comment was blown way out of proportion and taken out of context. That said, Kerry should have thought of a better word for what he was trying to say.

Someone who is definitively more conservative than me never hesitates to defend John Kerry.

I wonder if John Kerry's team is scrambling to come up with a good explanation for what a "sensitive" war on terror is, much like they've been trying to come up with an acceptable explanation for what his votes in the Senate mean.

Do you really want a guy in office that needs a team of people to explain his votes, actions, and words?

I disagree sigma..I think he was in context & his message clear.

More sensitive means more sensitive to France & Germany, not more sensitive to terrorists, I understand. Its just that France and Germany were corrupt in the matter and France in additionally France in particular wants "power parity" with the U.S. & resents being a 2nd tier (military) nation. Kerry would be "sensitive" to France by providing consessions to France. Initially, the consessions would have been not to go to war as France risked being exposed as corrupt and losing billions. Now that THAT cat is out of the bag, conssesions means GIVING France (who shed no blood and infact aided the enemy) a portion of the control of the military presence in Iraq and lucative rebuilding contracts, as well as looking the other way on their corruption.

So personally, I favor LESS sensitivity in this matter...

To sum up priorities..
Kerry...#1 E.U. participation #2 Engage percieved threats
Bush #1 Engage percieved threats #2 E.U. participation

A political title has nothing to do with correcting an error or a misinterpretation. I correct as many Bush inaccuracies as Kerry ones. you just don't pay attention to those because you agree with them.

If that's what I really wanted, I wouldn't have either of them in office (and I won't -- at least by my vote). Bush can't go a week without saying/doing something stupid that has to be corrected/explained later by his aides.

Then you are one of the ones that understand... more or less anyhow. I wouldn't go so far as saying that "more sensitive" applies to just France and Germany though. Nor does "more sensitive" mean "bend to the will of".

However that comment has been distorted and misrepresented to mean, as you mentioned, more sensitive to terrorists. And that is what I was referring to.

I'm having a hard time thinking of something that Bush said that needed to be explained later by his team. I'm not saying there is nothing of the such, I just can't recall anything. Can you help me out?
