Just got my hands on an SVT exhaust and am dying to have it put on. Was wondering what people have paid to have this installed. Thanks

I think most have done it themselves. All you need are the pass. side hanger and bracket, a gasket, and some simple hand tools. Probably could be installed in 30-45 minutes once all the necessary parts are installed... See here for the hanger... And here for the gasket, etc...

hey cway, it is an easy install. a fellow ceg'er designed a bracket that the svt exaust can hang off of on the passenger side, thank you whoever you are. the hardest thing about installing it yourself is loosening the old exaust from the cat. the bolts are probably rusted, but it should be ok. my brother and i installed my svt exaust in about 20min. you will love it, and combined with the kkm intake will let your baby breathe. and the sounds will be music to your ears.

Thanks for the mode of confidence Mike I really appreciate that. Not the most mechaniacally inclined person but I suppose if I got the KKM in maybe I could handle this. What are the gasket and insulater used for during the instalation. Also due the mufflers have to be welded on??

Is your car a Duratec or Zetec? Throw ease of install out the window if it's a Zetec.

cway the gasket is for where the cat and your new exaust go together, and the insulator is the rubber part that goes from your exaust to the hanger, it looks like a tear drop shape. arent the mufflers already welded on to the exaust? where did you get the exaust from? good to hear that you did the kkm, but you should have done the exaust first, but it is no big deal. if you did the kkm yourself you can definatly do the exaust mod no problem.

The Tour is a Duratec. Mike thanks for your help with these minor things. I got the exhaust from my neighbor who was going to install it on his but his wife crashed it. The mufflers are not already welded on they where given to me disconected from the exhaust. So could I install the exhaust and then have the mufflers hung later? Any suggestions. Was not really planning on the exhaust when I put the KKM on, this just fell in my lap and now that I have it I cant wait to get it on. Thanks a bunch for you help with this. I am deffinitley going to attempt this mod my self becaue that is how I learn. Thanks again!

I think the best $20 I ever spent in the past month was to the exhaust shop.
You see, I just put a Borla Exhaust on my SVT. The night before I was going to replace it, I sprayed a bunch (like nearly a whole can) of PB-Blaster on my exhaust bolts. The next AM, I went to remove those bolts. After about 15 minutes and the first bolt starting to round off, I said, screw this. Called the exhaust shop to see if they would replace the studs and nuts.
Truly less than 30 minutes later, I was back home with new studs and nuts installed. About an hour after that, the Borla was completely installed.
While the shop wouldn't install the Borla, they would remove the old bolts and replace them, all for $20.
Best money I've spent this month.

I agree with Tony. I had a shop take off the bolts for me for $20 after not being able to do myself. I then drove home and slipped the exhaust off the hangers and bolted up the SVT exhaust. Very easy to do.
