I think you may be a bit overly optimistic about your weight savings, but all in all it sounds like it will be a nice ride!
my concern would be supension tuning, you will be gaining a lot of weight over the nose of an already nose-heavy car. I guess my caution is, don't just throw parts at the suspension, do your homework analytically first, and then go look for shocks/struts and springs and bars that match what you figure out you need. It will save you a lot of money and wrench time in the long run.
Good luck, and if I can be of any assistance, let me know.
It's all about balance.

Hey Bill, Has Shawn given you a time frame for the istallation of the new drivetrain? I really think it would be cool to get a multi-model meet together @ IP Tech so people can check this project out....Could really put IP tech on the map! I've already made some posts about this, and Shawn is interested....I even posted the idea on www.teamfocaljet.com. Lots of interest....what do you think Bill?

Just out of curiosity where do you find it to be optimistic? The weight savings I quoted are pessimistic to me. I just gave a round about figure to some things off the top of my head, i will remove, remove, remove until it is at least 2350 lbs. I have no problems with dropping creature comforts as long as the ride quality and saftey are not compromised...Thanks for your input though and will seek you out if any suspension problems arise. About the time frame for the installation (99svtguy) We have agreed not to rush it, i can drive the focus (with a whopping 130 hp) until the motor is done then make the swap. I dont want to rush it, i want to take my time and get it right the first time. We are however hoping to have it completed by NOPI. Do the dyno comps there have classes? Like n/a v6? Maybe I could get the tires to chirp a little in the burnout competition Either way, I would like to have the motor in by the NOPI Nat's. I think I will be the only one with a 3.0 ZX3 there, either way, it would be fun. I will be doing SZ next year!!! Hope to see lots of people there, especially the s/c svt's

Sounds like it's going to be bad, but a quick question, isn't this costing a fortune ? Handling is going to be an issue I think with all the front end weight, I am not expert or anything..

Ryan well, its not cheap, thats why im going one step at a time and not in a rush...easier to break the costs up if its not all at once, but i saved about 5k going from the svt to the focus so....
