Did you talk to the chip progammer or send a dyno plot in so the programmer could have a baseline reference? Seems to me a good thing you tossed it if you were running lean enough to get a knock. Proper programming will avoid these situations and net a good product.
I talked to the programmer, and the salesman, several times about my machine, in advance and during the installation...and when my XGT1 chip wouldn't start [I knew there was a chance of this] the engine w/o adding a jumper, I was already pretty turned-off on their product.
I really don't know if it ran any better, just wasn't going to put up with pinging.
