Guys i was purchasing a superchip off another person who had it on ther car. Now i would ask for his advice but obviously it's a bias view.

No i serached all about superchips on here and i here they arn't worth it, very few said it made a diif, but it soudns to me that most people lost power,

1#Did anybody gain in power at all from these things?

2#Any better gas mileage anybody?

3#It is being sold for $75 and it is programmed to my computer code so what do u guys think?

I reject your reality and substitute my own.

Your engine will probably *knock* on you, even w/ octane booster and 93 octane...mine did...threw it away.

Superchip is one of the last mods you do to your car. It will help your car make the best use of the mods - the programmer is the key to a good chip. Search the recent threads to find out who to buy from if you're ready for it.

I don't know.

Expect to spend about $200-$250 for a properly programmed chip. They must be matched to the specific code on your ECU box. For best results, send a dyno plot of your existing power curve & A/F ratio to your programmer

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Did you talk to the chip progammer or send a dyno plot in so the programmer could have a baseline reference? Seems to me a good thing you tossed it if you were running lean enough to get a knock. Proper programming will avoid these situations and net a good product.

Generic chips are hit or miss.

There is a pretty well documented thread about most of the PCM codes and what to expect if you search the archives.

Each code reacts a little differently to what actually was changed on the chip. Most chips don't change much at all either.

You are much better off getting a chip from an experienced tuner. The only one I would recommend is Street Flight.
Also to date no other tuner (superchips, diablo, ford chips, etc) has shown they can tune our platform worth a crap. All have done half-assed jobs at best.

~~~
My superchip for the XGT1 code (2000 SVT) was not bad and never pinged or detonated once on 92 octane. Then again I am the one that helped make the base code through trial and error too so YMMV with other codes. (like I previously stated)
Matter of fact it's what I was running when I did my old dyno's and they crested 190 even. (yes lots of other well chosen mods)
Guess I was smart not to just throw away $225 unlike some other people in this thread did???
~~~

Short answer...

Get a Street Flight chip.

2000 SVT #674 13.47 @ 102 - All Motor! It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.

I was smart not to let it bother me like it seems to bother you.

I talked to the programmer, and the salesman, several times about my machine, in advance and during the installation...and when my XGT1 chip wouldn't start [I knew there was a chance of this] the engine w/o adding a jumper, I was already pretty turned-off on their product.

I really don't know if it ran any better, just wasn't going to put up with pinging.

2 points!!

You seem jealous, baby

Bug off...hey, great idea...talk to people that you like, ignore the ones that make you simper and pout.

From now on, Stazi, your stalking will net you nothing...consider all your future attempts to fight with me ignored.

Your grasp of the workings of the XGT1 ECU are zero.

There is NOT ONE chip on the market that will work without jumping the specified contacts on the board.

Your basis for deciding that Superchips was a "bad company" because they told you that this needed to be done to make the chip work shows your ignorance and lack of overall understanding of how things work.

You can ignore me all you want, but everytime I see you say something stupid, I'll be there to rebutt you and put you in your place! Moron!
