where to start, well i recently(like 2 or so months ago) got my first car, which is of course a contour. its from 98 and its got the 2.5L dohc engine. only problem is, has got to be the shortage of parts and accessories for this car, any one got links or names of any performance parts, such as intakes and such that fit? just pm me, post here, or e-mail at jcjs45@hotmail.com . all help about modding this car and such are needed to lol. thanks in advance.

People are gonna tell you to search and look around, but before they do I'll help you out a bit: http://www.contour.org/mods/mods.php?s=modscheck that link out, its even on this website so it will be easy for you to find in the future. There are tons (not as much as civics or other crap like that) of mods for our cars, you just have to look. Do you want to do simple mods, like intake/exhaust (check out http://www.spmotorsports.com/contour.html Joe is a pretty good guy, get to know him) You can also put a turbo on your car, a supercharger, or even do a complete 3L conversion. Street flight makes a turbo for our car (although I believe that the guy in charge of it is making a new company) and Vortech made a supercharger for our car. And you can swap a 3L into your car. All of those mods are a couple thousand dollars so if you have the cash, you can get huge HP increases. But most imporantly SEARCH the forums and read up on this site. There is a huge ammount of knowledge and information in the forums exponentially greater than what I just gave you. Glad to have you in the community!

No.
Before you plunk down $$$, remember to do your search homework on dollar spent per horsepower gained, going by ACTUAL results and not by hucksters' claims. You don't get 20 FWHP from just adding headers, you don't get 5 FWHP by just doing an air filter swap, you don't get 10 FWHP from just adding a catback system. Modding these cars ain't cheap.

Cheapest mods you will be doing (not including ones you do yourself) are going to involve your intake most likely. also you might be interested in a short throw shifter. exhaust is still under 1k so thats not too bad. for a couple hundred you might think about getting a chip. headers, svt intake manifolds... thats just HP related too... tons of stuff for handling. I'm getting carried away here. Bottom line is if you get cheap stuff for your tour... you'll get what you pay for. Look in the How-Tos to see what you can do without spending much money first...general stuff like that can improve your car.
