well im currently looking into getting a turbo installed on my 98 svt and right now it is completely stock. i want to know if any one could help me out as far as what upgrades i need to do first prior to getting my turbo, and also where would be the best place to get my turbo from. cost is not the issue right now but i would like to get the best turbo that i could. also i want to know if just getting a supercharger would be a better rout, if so what type of upgrades would i need for that.

i see that the street flight system says i need to relocate the battery and get a new exshaust i know that but what i really want to know is if the car as is will handle all that power, like the cluth or is there anything else that would give me a problem with the extra boost.

Quaife, update the trans synchros, spec clutch, fadanza flywheel,Trubendz exhaust(I think they make a 3in setup)High flow cat or no cat The big thing is to make sure your tranny is up to the task at hand. I don't know if you plan for more boost or not. But depending on your cars mileage you my want to rebuild the motor. That way you can build it to handle more boost. search and you'll find many examples of turbo tours

I ran a completely stock transmission for 10K miles. When I finally cracked the case to change it I was on the verge of destroying the diff. The gears had nasty wear marks and gouges in the teeth and it would not turn freely. The clutch was pretty cooked too. Just a little bit of blue here and there. The motor mount is going to be crucial. You have to loose the stabo shock to fit the pipes. I ran without the insert to see what would happen. The intercooler hit the hood so hard when it rocked I have a small dent in it. I put in the urethane insert and it was better but still had wheel hop. I then had to have a solid mount welded between the subframe and the rear motor mount to make the wheels just spin instead of hop. The suspension was another story. I also had stock struts and springs for a while. The back end would drop so hard at the track it looked like I was dragging bumper. Koni's and Ground Controls are what I used to fix it.
Moral of the story...you can put it on a stock SVT but plan on getting upgrades....soon.

Just put the turbo kit on your car and fix whatever breaks afterwards. Then you'll know what needs to be upgraded.

Why aren't you guys telling hime to upgrade the tranny at the same time? Saves a lot of $ to do it once and do it right. At minimum an LSD should be installed. Also third gear synchro is most likely a little more worn than the others so that should be replaced. New throw out berring also.
