Hello people, I am new to the Contour site but I am a regular on www.fordmondeo.org over here in the UK. I have a picture request that I hope someone can help me with. I would like to see some pictures of the interior of a Contour. Mostly of the dash. TIA

I have noticed that you have changed yours to the same console that I have fitted in mine.

98+ Contours (similar to MKII Mondeo) have a console that many owners do not like because it got rid of the extra DIN slot plus it does not "complete" the swoop created by the dashboard. The pre-98 Contour (similar to MKI) console does all this, but has worse cupholders as you are finding out.
FWIW, if you swap to the 98+ console, be sure it has the year 2000 cupholder extension (a black plastic piece, fits in both cupholders to raise and stabilize any drinks in them).
The two consoles are a simple bolt-in here in the States, but I don't know if the Mondeo has different bolt patterns which would make it more difficult.

Do you guys get pronunciations like "Wor-ces-ter" or "Wor-ches-ter" all the time too, or is the correct pronunciation more well known around there?

Here's a better pic of the console. I personally like mine just fine. I don't eat or drink in my car much so the holders aren't a big issue. I like it because it makes it feel roomier. There's more pics in my sig, feel free to browse if you need.
