Seems like almost every College in Boston, and most on the East Coast. There are 2 trains of thought on this. One, they want to keep the kids on campus for the first year without running home to mommy every weekend. But in Boston, there is no room for everyone to have a car, so you've got to earn the privledge. Sounds like a good idea to me. But enough about that.

As for the relationship thing, I tried a long distance releationship during college, and it sucked ass. I ended up spending many nights on the phone instead of out with my friends. Make the most of your college years. Especially your first semester. Everyone is looking to meet new people, so make sure you do to. The bonds and friendships I made my first year are still strong, and some of the strongest friendships I've had. A group of about 4-5 of us get together once every 3-6 months in a new city. We all live across the country, and stay in touch. Just to give you an idea.

Hang onto her if you'd like, but in the end you will most likely not stay together, and the best thing to do would probably be break up now. Otherwise you'll both feel worse down the road.
I knew of alot of HS relationships that tried staying together in college. Not ONE out of the 10-15 I know of lasted beyond the first year. A few of my buddies were together for a while. College is a complete change. A couple friends even dropped out of college because the inevitable breakup really messed with their heads. Sure, eventually it works out, but its tough! It takes alot of energy to make a Long Dist. relationship work, and IMO its not worth it.
