i just got my hood yesterday and remembered this post. im having the same problems with my OEM CF hood and i didnt have any more room with the holes on the hinges and if i dremeled them out more then the hood would sit too far back. everything lines up, plain and simple the hood latch isnt right. its skinnier and longer than the stocky i was thinking about putting washers behind the hood latch assembly but the bolts arent long enough to clear how much the latch misses. i might just hack that [censored] off and use just hood pins but im a little pissed

Check a few pages back in this thread...someone posted about how to get it to catch....hood pins would be ideal.

it should be more than enough....some people use both....most people i know with CF hoods, just use locking pins...they have had no problmes with them.
Oh, use the ones that come with a key...so no one can get under the hood.

using the locking ones on my fiberglas hood, i found out that they dont work very well.i dont know if you would have problems with a 98+ because the hood may not curve as much but i know i couldnt get the lock to lock all the way. i used regular hood pins on mine, works very well, i only used to and i dont have any problems, except when i forget to put the hoodpins in and the hood comes flying up in my face while driving.

Hey Chris, wanna make $5? Put some hood pins on my car. The stock latch held it at 130, so I'm not real worried, but it wouldn't be bad to have them.

Guys don't get hasty. If your having issues with your hood, you should have ask me or the carbon shop what to do. I have installed two hoods, one on two different cars and have got all of them to latch and fit nicley. We don't even have to apply much force to latch them, almost like stock. Having said that we had to put spacers in the catch mechanism, no big deal and slightly tweak the latch on the hood. The length I thought would have been an issue, but turns out its not at all.
