Hi Tony,
The idea had crossed my mind. I'm not sure about a couple of things though... Would people be willing to relocate their battery for a CAI? How would you do the 2.75" to 3" and the 3" to 3.25" transitions? Would an exhaust tubing expander work?

I haven't welded anything since high school, let alone welded thin wall pipe. If you have the tools and the know how, I would happily loan you the intake for a week or two. If you did decide to sell them, a small percentage would be appreciated. It would be nice to recoup some of the $400ish that I've spent on making this puppy.

I've gotta post some pics of the tubing cutting jig that I made. It worked incredibly well.

BTW, I'm finally doing my struts and rear disc conversion this weekend. How long ago did I buy those parts from you? LOL!

Later,
Ben

Ben you can get reducer/expander pieces premade. Thta stuff is easy to weld...gotta love the TIG welder. I would be fun to try for sure.

TIG welder

If you want to give it a try, just drop me a line. I'm sure that there are at least a couple of hardcore Zetecer's around that would want one.

I'll hang on to my CTA intake so I can still drive my car.

Its easier to relocate the fusebox under the battery.

Also, not so many bends would be beneficial.

How would you move the fusebox under the battery? There isn't enough length in the stock wiring harness to have it sit next to the transmission?

I guess that if you could do that, you would only need three bends. A 90 at the Throttle Body, one 45 to angle it towards the front corner, and a 90 to angle it down to the air filter.

I really like how mine follows the stock intakes path. It doesn't really obstruct anything.

Just thinking out loud...

Ben

I think the big thing would be to get it down to maybe 2 pieces of metal tube instead of all the silicone hose. The mandrel bends will really help with smooth flow. Ben I'll look through my pile of mandrel bends and see what I have laying around. I know I have few straight lengths, but I'm not sure on diameters. I might have some 3in around but most is 2.5 Whatever we can discuss it more in detail. I need to make a cia for my tour anyways.

I've got about 1.5 feet of 3" stainless left if that would help. BTW, I thought that you only had V6's? Did you get a Zetec 'tour to play with?

There's no such thing as too much silicone ..cough..Pam Anderson..cough..

This upcoming meet is gonna be sweet. (no rhyme intended)

BTW, It will probably Sunday-ish before I get some underside photos taken. I've gotta work Saturday. OT for me!!!
