You haven't clarified your mistake, you just outline a different part of it. the Contour was rebadged, with minor changes to keep parts incompativle and US approved, from the Mondeo. No, the Toyota Avenis and the Scion TC, might share the same platform as the contour mtx75 and the jagaur mtx75 transmissions, pretty much same platform but nothing the same....
This really doesn't matter. Just you said two different things. You said the Avenis a very well known or whatever platform in europe/japan. You said nothing of the TC and avenis sharing the same platform. You called the TC a rebadged avenis. which is not true.
