Not exactly anyone's first choice, but if you could figure out a way to have the duratec in there while still meeting crash standards, then let ford know, because they couldn't figure it out. Though the zetec in a focus with mods is a car to reckon with. There are all engine zetec foci running 12s and turbo'd zetecs pushing 300hp on the street and over 500hp at the strip. Though I'd much rather slap a v8 with rwd conversion in one and slaughter expensive cars (check out motor trend's test of ford's rs8 focus against a lambo).

That said, I still wouldn't buy a fsvt as long as there is the srt4 to be had. It has good handling (a notch under the fsvt perhaps due to it being designed for good traction, but you can change that with a few mods) and good power and drivetrain that can handle a good bit more than stock power. No having to build the engine up to have over 300whp as a daily driver is a plus. Though the interior is crappy along with some other stuff, the engine and handling make up for it.
