as difficult as it is to interpret the quoted post as english....i'll give it a whirl. Originally posted by auiotour: The focus svt is not worth your time, at least the zx3 model.
fwiw, the ZX3 and ZX5 models are identical save for the number of doors. same wheelbase, same features, same motor/suspension/etc. ad infinitum.

any t-bone accident shy of a gentle 5-mph nudge is going to do some significant damage to ANY car. there's a lot of sheetmetal there and not much room for it to go anywhere...and besides, given the FSVT depreciation rate, half the car's value really isn't all that much money - sad to say. before i bought a miata last fall, i looked at numerous 1-year-old FSVT's w/ under 6-8k miles that were priced in the low/mid-teen's (compared w/ a $20k sticker).
Originally posted by auiotour: The car is weak, and can't even beat his old csvt. When we have gotten on the highway we raced to 60, and he barely wins against my stock 99 se sport.
well, considering the FSVT has 170 hp vs. the CSVT's 200, and given published 0-60 times that are about 1/3 to 1/2 sec in favor of the CSVT - that sounds about right. if anybody buys an SVT focus (or contour, for that matter) to beat anyone in a straight line, they're missing the entire point of the car.
Originally posted by auiotour: Not to impressive, and the cheap 8 inch sub is horrible sounding, he wants to replace that. the seat belts look horrible,
there aren't many OEM sound systems in lower-end cars that have true audiophile-quality sound (though some are rather dubiously named as such - like the FSVT audio upgrade), so whoopty-freaking-doo. and critiquing the seat belt? who even looks at the stinkin' seat belt? as long as it does its job, who cares what it looks like? i'd venture to say that it'll never be a design element in 99.9% of all cars on the road....

there isn't a new FSVT; it's gone after '04. no '05 w/ a duratec or any such animal as that.
i'd definitely say that the zetec would not be my first choice of a powerplant; i'd much rather have the 2.5L or 3L duratec in there myself, but i wouldn't go so far as to call the breathed-on FSVT zetec "crappy". to each their own.
i've driven the FSVT, and aside from a shift pattern that i couldn't seem to get used to on the test drive, i was impressed with it. i like the subtle body mods that SVT installed, and i think the overall package is spot-on....though an extra 30 hp would certainly spice things up a bit. i think SVT was a bit too nearsighted in putting a 170hp sporty hatchback on the market when similar money can buy you an SRT-4 or something like that....but whatever.
another 2 pennies worth....<shrug>
