Any thoughts? You get alot of standard features for $16k. I wouldn't even want to add anything to the base car. Except maybe the CAI, which is available through Toyota. Plus, it's a Toyota, so you get reliabilty and resale value. And, IMHO, it looks really good.

I guess if you want to be known as the douche bag who hopped on the bandwagon of ugly cheap-ass cars, then a Scion is for you!

I wouldn't bet on "reliability and resale value" coming from a brand new car on a brand new platform from a brand new company, and, yes, that's coming from someone who bought an '03 Mazda6. And, yeah, "it's a Toyota", but Pontiac and Saturn are both General Motors and the reliability and resale aren't even in the same ballpark.

Sure, you get a pretty nice car for $16K, there's no doubt -- makes me wonder where they cut corners to save money.

I saw them at the auto show and thought they were just "OK". Then I saw one at the dealer and thought it was junk. A friend was going to buy one until he test drove it, and hated it.

I haven't driven or seen one in person yet. Just thinking. I guess I'll have to check them out.

Haha...you get what you pay for, in my opinion. The Scion being completely new might be a bit of a gamble. You don't know what kinds of bugs those things may have.

I have test drove one already, and i personally think their steering is more responsive then the contour, they don't turn as sharp, and are around the same ball park with speed versus weight ratio. The car is a nice little car. I took it to show some friends and they loved it... I am sure if I was to get in an accident that it wouldn't hold up like my tour does.... But I am still thinking of getting one.

Read the article in this month's Motor Trend, it's a nice car for little money.

160 hp and 3000 lbs but it can still turn 0-60 in 7.4 sec, impressive.

Great value.

They sound like a great deal to me, priced like a Hyundai Tib, but it really is a toyota for the most part.

I'm 99% sure it's based on an existing model sold elsewhere, so even if it had bugs in it, they got worked out.

Don't listen to the haters, they'd probably tell you to get a chevy Aveo.
