I guess I'm in the minority here, but considering you haven't worked in 7 months, I would have accepted the offer.. You could have still gone on the interview, and had you gotten it, bailed on the first company. I've seen it happen time and time again, it's nothing new, and as long as you never try to go work for the 1st company again, who cares if they think you're a "goon" or not?
