hey guys, well heres the scoop, ive been out of town for a while so thats why i havent posted and actually thats what caused the problem in a way.
so i went out of town and my sister says "hey why dont you leave me the car since you wont be back for a couple of months" being the good brother that i am i thought that i should give her a chance and agreed.that was mistake #1
i told her that i needed to change my oil and that she had to take care of that.mistake #2
when i came back, i noticed my car was running alittle funny and i smelled something kind of burning, so i checked the oil. ther was nothing no oil at alll. so i put 4.5 quarts in thats how empty it was.
then i got on the free way and i hear a rattling noice coming from my engine when i hit about 2500 rpm and i have been told thhat i need a valve ajustment so i thought that was the noice. i went to get an opinion and they said that i need to check my rat bairings and just to check it alone would be 250 and if the problem can be fixed then 600.
how the hell can i pay that. so i told my girll that before i go to get it worked on i would ask any of you guys for help. since i hear you guys talking about fixing stuff all the time maybe you can let me know what the problem is and if you could, lend a helping hand. please let me know any help is greatly appreciated. oh yeah sorry for the long story

remove the oil, and look if u see any metal or pieces of bearings. And what u can also do, is put u finger inside the pil drain hole. Maybe youll fell some bearings. OR stick a small magnet in there. If u got any questions hit me up on private ims. It seems that sometimes people dont like to help otu when there in need. I was once there a couple of weeks ago so i know the feelings goes.

Joe SVT brings up a good point...they way i found out that i had a spun bearing was it sounded like the motor was Metal on Metal and the car would not hold an idle.

Drain the oil,and check for Metal fillings...if you have any you most likly have bearing damage.

If any description on here is vague, let me know where you are, and maybe we can meet up so i can see whats up.

Any noticeably power loss?? CEL?? if you want to do a 3 liter swap, Low Budget is good at it, very good....but if you can't afford it, i would be willing to take up a few weekedns and help you, im sure we could get the block for cheap, and it would be easy to do...i ahve all the tools and all we would need is a garage...all you would need to do is pay for parts, and i can problably get you good pricing since i work for Autonation.

Let me know what you would like to do...first thing first, i would like the chance to properly Diagnose the vehical, if your local.

But at 4.5 quarts low on oil, I can almost gaurentee a spun bearing...I know thats not waht you want to hear, but im sure lowbudget and I could help you out iff needed.

Damn I need to change my oil, its been like 6,000 miles on my crappy 88 cent Wal-Mart oil, which they so happened to raise to 92 cents ~

I'm climbing underneath tomorrow and throwing some Super-Tech in, my baby only gets the best now-a-days! Well the best 92 cents can buy that is

from the description he gave me over the phone, it sounds like a spun bearing....his oil light came on, then check engine light, and loss of power with a clanking noise that gets louder and faster the higher the rpm goes.

i told him not to drive it unless absolutly nessicary...to perserve the top end of the motor...hes considering a hybrid 3 liter...less to fabricate than a full 3 liter...and given his funds are limited, cheaper for him to.

hey said he may be coming out tonight to meet us at starbucks...i gave him the address and hes going to use map quest to find it...he would like to talk to us about the motors.

Carlos, i may try and lean him twards a low millage 2.5 liter svt motor, just because finding a whloe motor would eventually be cheaper than to build a 3 liter...adverage 3 liter is costing people between 1500 and 2000..more in some cases. I know you had you motor replace, and was wondering how much it coast, and if you know a place that sells used?? I was considering green leaf, Ford's rebuilder.

hes a collage student on disability right now, casue he hurt his back at his job, so money is a big factor for him.

If anyone has any other sugestions for which way he can go...im lookin for the cheapest route for him.

he will call me at 7pm tonight to see if he can make it down.

Lupe
