hey guys,
#1 i am about to buy an amp/sub combo for my car and was wondering if everything matches up. ive been researching for a while, and have narrowed it down to this:
-Rockford Fosgate 1001bd 500/1 Amp @ 4ohm
-JL Audio 12W6v2 (400W RMS at 4 ohm)
^heard great things about this sub^
-Phoenix Gold AKIT42
600W-4 gauge-glass style-complete install kit
#2 i am looking at cap's also, but dont understand the ratings. is there a certain wattage that you should bump a cap up to 2 farads or something? sorry, i am pretty ignorant on the issue.

1 farad = 1000 watts.

I dont know how big you want your system, but with that amp id get 2 of those subs...
but i like it LOUD :-D

Hell with the new t1001bd you should be able to run 4 of those subs easy if wire them to drop the load to 1ohm. You definately don't need that big of an amp for just one of those subs unless you're getting a great deal. Check the BD amplifier a step down from the 1001 and save yourself the money.

ive found a good deal on that amp and i trust rockford products. its either that or the JL 500/1 which is a little more pricey. thank you all for answering my questions, any other input is much welcome!
so you can use a 1 farad with a 500 wt right?

yeah that cap will be fine. also, why not the knuconceptz install kit? its cheap, and nice.
oh, and the new rockford amps look tight as hell.

i really dont care about looks. this isnt for show or anything. i just want decent SQ and power combo. whats the knuconcepts kit?
