Certainly. If you decide that cooking your clutch is worth a tenth or two off the line that you'll lose anyway as speeds increase. GSXs carry a ton of unsprung and extra weight due to that AWD system, and they aren't making any extra power over GSTs, so any minuscule gain you'll get right out of the hole will be lost by the time you hit the lights.
See that's just it. The AWD ability gain is small because the stock or near stock power can not sustain wheel spin and the engine bogs badly.
Also it has almost twice the powerloss through the drivetrain.
Stock for stock the GS-T is a hair quicker (1-2 tenths) but several mph faster. The AWD system is nothing but a large burden after the first 60'
Now on a moderately modified or better DSM it changes everything because then traction is king verses less weight and parasitic drag.
