My SVT has a K&N intake and removed resonator. Do I stand a chance against a 98 GS-T with a bov, filter, and full cat back exhaust without a cat? I'm not 100% on the power output of the gs-t.

IIRC the gs-t came with the tc'ed 2.4L which was putting out 210 hp. So stock he has you by a little and with the mods just a tad more. In my unprofessional guesstimate opinion I'd say yeah you definitely have a chance if you can out launch and outdrive him/her.

He'll pull on you but not too much. I had a run in with a red one with at least an exhaust from what I could see and he pulled on me slooooowwly in 2nd gear. I have, damn I wish i would have left my sig up, K&N w/maf adapter, heatshield, optimized TB, optimized Y, and Magnaflow components on the stock piping. So he'll get you almost for sure, but if you can get a better launch than him or at least a decent launch (I know it's hard), you should be able to stick with him until the top of 2nd I would imagine. Just a guess though. Try him in the upper gears, at the track of course, they have baby peepee turbos.

210 hp and fast, I believe thats on 10 lbs of boost and they can run 15 psi on their little peepee turbo as you say. 7 hp and 8 ft/lbs of torque per lb of boost...just hope he hasnt figured that out yet, and you might only slightly get beat.
This all coming from a turbo owner who hurts the feelings of any gst's slightly modded or not

DSM = 2.0L DOHC Mitsubishi 4G63 intercooled turbo. Now the turbo itself depends on a few things.
Boost controller alone is low 14's except the T25 cars.
I'd say you have NO chance unless the race is short and he spins. GS-T with intake, exhaust and controller is 14 flat if not high 13's with good fuel and weather. The 2.0L Mitsu motor is a beast.

I am weary to race any DSM. I don't know much about them but I do know the GS-ts and the GSXs can be very fast. It's hard for me to know which are the pooches and which are fast.

assuming you nail both the launch and every shift while he is making mistakes then you may stand a chance against a 100% stock gst. otherwise you will see nothing but his tail lights.
