Yeah, I'm sure, and the uppers aren't common either. The LS uses a coil-over strut design which mounts to the lower control arm, and the Cobra uses a seperate spring and shock, w/ a full spring pocket cast into the lower arm.
And the uppers have pretty different pivot geometry at the uprights, the LS having a monoball design and the cobra having a typical clevis end on the arm and a bolt through it to pivot on.

I'm not saying you didn't read that, heck it certainly wouldn't be the first time I've seen something I know was blatantly wrong from the automotive press . . .
