Something like that happened to me a couple of weeks ago.....driving out to Lake Erie on Hwy.56.....I was doing about 115 in an 80. As soon as I saw the OPP cruiser coming towards me I knew I was caught. When he pulled a U-ie in my rear view mirror I pulled over---he didn't even have to put his lights on. In your case and in mine, I think if they don't have to chase you down they'll give you a break. In my case, I didn't have my ownership in the car. So I didn't get nailed for speeding, just for not having the paperwork. MUCH LESS painful.
