Does anyone know of any sources that stock BAT springs other than BAT? I have had a set on back-order with BAT for three weeks and they say another two weeks. I am looking for a quicker solution if possible. Checked with CTA, but they don't have any in stock.

BAT is the supplier for EVERY SINGLE RESELLER of their products. (which is at least 5 other places (CTA, SP, PF, DP, CC, etc)
If BAT does not have any then guess what. None of their resellers have any either because resellers do not stock parts. They just "RESELL" them.
The only reason a reseller would have an inventory of a specific part is if the quantity was limited and they wanted a corner on the market. Like what those Cougar sites tried to do with the RLIM's. (i.e. ST200 LIM)
Too bad they didn't think about the fact you can get the same RLIM from a salvage yard for well under $100 and not the $300+ they are/were asking.

Just because BAT and/or a reseller is out doesn't mean that ALL resellers might be out. You never know if Joe at SP might have a couple of sets in back that might have been overlooked, for example.

What part of "resale" do you not understand? Resellers don't always wait to get an order before ordering their parts.
It has happened before that BAT has been out of stock even thought the retailers they supply have something left. It's not a perfect JIT pull system (obviously). There's still some inventory push, which may work to Tim's advantage.
Same way BAT gets their Borla cat backs. Borla has a limited run every year of Contour systems, and BAT buys a bunch, and some other retailers buy the rest. Borla is now out of cat back systems, but the "resellers" still have them, BAT or otherwise.
Same with the darn springs. BAT doesn't sit in the back room pounding out springs to order like McDonald's fricken hamburgers. They make a bunch of Contour springs (if they make them at all), then a bunch of Fiesta springs, then Merkur, and so forth. They keep some for retail, and they sell some right away to resellers. Profit on those kits is reduced, but it's ready cash right now.
It's a long shot, sure, but geesh.

What part of "Profit loss" do you not understand? Unless you have a situation like I mentioned (stockpiling out of production parts) a reseller is NOT going to want to pay shipping twice. That eats up a lot of their profits. (like alluded to in my second post) When you buy a BAT part from SP, CTA, CC, DP, PF or whomever the part is drop shipped from BAT to the purchaser. Thus saving paying shipping an extra time and losing profit. That is the entire idea to "reselling" No on hand inventory overhead and not having to roll twice the shipping cost into the selling price. Which in this case is a fixed price by BAT so that means less shop profit. Therefore the chance of finding "BAT springs" sitting on a reseller's shelf is miniscule. Which was the point of my first post.

it actually depends on whether the two companies negotiated shipping terms of shipping point or destination point. that determines who pays shipping and who owns the item while in transit. it also tells you who records the merchandise in their inventory at the end of the year if it is indeed still in transit when the companies fiscal year ends. can you tell someones been taking business classes over the summer?
