Only thing is, it's STILL not an STi....aren't you missing the extra 0.5L displacement and the VF34 the STi engine has???

The problem with America is stupidity.
I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment
for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety
labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

I'm not coming to this guys defense...but w/ the ongoing misbadging debate, where would a replica, say, fiero powered lambo or ferrari be classified?? There are many other "kit" cars out there that are also badged as something they are not w/o the correct mods. Maybe a "kit" is something else entirely, thus socially acceptable in the world of self-righteous car forums Heck even looking at the 1G & 2G camaro's & the rampant misbadging of Z's & SS's & RS's...etc. Eh...just wondering what the opinions were on this aspect of misbadging.

Again poser,
Those aren't kit cars those are Fiero's with body kits posing as high end cars. It's lame BS.

You have bigger problems than we can help you with. It doesn't appear that you are a car enthusiast. You seem to be stuck on the old idea that imports look good when you screw them up, but domestics should be left stock-looking.
It isn't so. You sound like you're 17, so I'll give you some advice: It is your car and you have the final say in any modifications you do. If you think it's tasteful, then do it. But what you think isn't quite important enough to you. Why? Because you've posted on at least two different message boards trying to get OTHER people's opinions; and then you gripe when they don't agree with you. A fair number of people on NASIOC agreed that it's cheesy to label your car as something it isn't.
It's not an "imports v. domestics" issue. It's just taste and being truthful about your car. The same way people laugh when a Type R Civic rolls into a parking lot, so will people laugh when a Subaru guru looks twice at your car and informs everyone that you're shady. Then again, it's your car and you should do what you want with it regardless of my or anyone else's opinion.
All this is coming from a Honda guy. I had a Si and now I drive an Accord. I've never owned a domestic car.

Peoples opinions are exactly that...OPINIONS!!! you don;t have to listen, you don;t have to follow them, and YOU don;t have to ask for them.....
Grow up and understand this: what you may like, others probably will not...its the Yin and Yang of the car world. you ahve to take good and the bad.
would i call you rice...probably not, but i would call you a poser.
You can argue till your blue in the face about it, but your not going to changes people's opinions...atleast not in this thread.....besides, your friend was asking our opinion on the matter, for information on what we think.
Besides, if you really felt comfortable doing it, you would not have asked peoples opinions, or have listened to your friends opinion...you would have done it.. 'nuf said!!!
