Do some research on this site. I placed a post a long time ago about an electronic setup I was working on that did produce large amounts of boost. I was using an electric RC jet engine that produced 8lbs of boost. the problems outweigh the good. The one I was working on would work at the track, but was nothing you could use on a daily driver and use all the time.

The ERam, from the link in the original post, does work.
It has been tested and dynoed by one CEGer to show good gains.
I think average was 7HP/TQ and peak in the double digits.
It produces 1psi of boost.

No, I've heard about the ERAM working also.

Yeah, kind of like the notorious IAT resistor "mod." Fooling the EEC into thinking the inlet air is cooler than it really is will also -supposedly- net you the kind of power claimed by the ERAM - just through additional spark timing advance.

When I first heard about this a year or two ago I did some serious searching and some calculations based on power and flow and came to the conclusion that despite the hype and advertising, there was no way this thing could produce any kind of real gains.

But to argue it again now would be exhausting - and would never convince a true "believer."

Physics does not lie. A blower motor properly sized to make a real difference in engine power would make the ERAM look like the toy that it is. Think electric motor powered vortech supercharger. It would also have a huge current draw requiring dedicated batteries and would be impractical as hell on a street driven car.

JEDScontour, I'm not saying it did work for a fact. i'm saying I have heard the rumor that it worked also. Maybe a search will find something...Oh well, you seem pretty set on your thinking.

Edit: Couldn't leave well enough alone...This is quoted from Demon of all people:
Quote:

At 100% efficiency this will generate roughly a 10-13HP increase at the crank on the SVT engine. (8-10 wheels) Then factor in the alternator will draw about 2HP back to supply the electricity. The battery takes the brunt of the "initial" current draw. Sustained draw comes directly from the alternator though!

So "technically" you could get a maximum gain of 6-9 wheel HP at 100% efficiency for ~$300. Not bad HP per dollar for our car really.
However make sure you have a good quality battery (optima for instance) to help with the added strain on the electrical system. Also alternator replacement interval may be sooner too.

The ERAM is not a "joke", though it is not as awesome as the information would make it look.
The EBAY junk is a joke. Plain & simple.

This is from BNoon, who actually had one:

Quote:

I have actual dyno proof that the E-ram worked for my Contour SE to the tune of 9HP peak and lots more off peak with the same intake pipe and filter on the car for both runs. I don't see this guy's dyno proof that it didn't work, as he claims it didn't. He knows a little about thermal dynamics, but very little about electrical loading (saying it only pulls about 15 amps, DUH! He measured it free air!!!). He can't even dechypher Mark's email correctly RE: the unit pictured vs. as pictured. Very little information on that linked page

So, I think that pretty much sums it up for me, how about you guys?

No, Brad Noon was the one who had it.
At one point he had dyno plots.
A quick search will find the relevant posts.

SleeperZ, I already brought this party to an end. I noticed they didn't respond after I actually did the leg work instead of just denying things without back up... It's all good in the hood!

"good in the hood!" is one reason it is exhausting to argue this.

DeamonSVT's calculated numbers are much higher than what I calculated. I was looking at the Ebay version of this based on an RC airplane ducted fan (not a bilge pump). To me it looks like it would start acting as a restriction at around 4000 to 5000 RPM and would cost significant horsepower at higher RPM.

BNoon saw real gains on a dyno. Does he still have it in his car?

JonnySVT I certainly think you should buy this thing, run it for a couple thousand miles, or as far as you can, then tell us what you think.
