has anyone replaced these, yet? any idea how dificuld it would be or if special tools are needed? 1st gear syncros and syncro block is $150 from ford, it needs a clutch so i was wondering

What year Contour do you have and what makes you think the 1st gear synchros are worn ?

spy guy, if i ever hear you talk like that to anyone again, i will hunt you down and kill you. i have rebuilt stuff you have no clue what it does, i dont do alot of transmissions so kiss my ass. plus as im overseas and limited to my comp time its hard to sit and wait for a search!!!
it is a 1998, and there was brass shavings in the trans fluid, and the syncro block is the only thing brass. its hard to shift into 2nd, and first grinds alot. moving or not

just like told someone else....im returning the wonderful curtacy that this club has shown me on occasion. Everyone here seems to be grumpy and mean. I figured id return the favor.

I can assure you that here in the Tranny Forums, you will not be treated the same as you are else where. I will not stand for it and personally hate it just as you do. I have been there, done that and got questions answered by Roadrunner.
