If our cfms are higher in the EH manifolds, wouldn't that mean the air flows faster?

Nope, that just means the manifolds are capable of flowing that much. Doesn't mean the engine is capable of providing the pull to match.

I'd agree, as a mentioned earlier, I think the non-SVT cams likely can't utilize the extra flow. The engine is capable of utilizing it , just not the current setup . IIRC, several CEG'ers have seen reasonable gains by maxing out their UIM flow (DemonSVT, etc.) but their setups allowed the engine to utilize that extra flow.

Ronan has the exhaust work done, he's running an ST200 TB and intake pipe and his heads have been ported and polished but he's running stock cams which are likely maxing out.

The SVT's make all their extra power over non-SVT's on the top-end.

Some thoughts..

1)What type of LIM is Ronan running?
A stock V6 uses a 30mm secondary bore, a 98 SVT uses a 32mm secondary bore...either of which could probably cost him p[ower with his near 34mm secondary runners by creating a turbulance inducing lip. He needs the 34mm LIM..

2) Did he reset the computer?

3) Did check air/fuels ratio...perhaps he is now running leaner or richer with the new manifol?

Dan, I'll let Ronan respond to these as I don't know the answers. I do know he has a 34/35mm LIM w/19lb injectors and thought they were installed but the more I think about it the more I'm uncertain he has them installed. If he's still running his stock 31/32 w/17lb injectors then you're quite right he could have a flow problem there, especially at the lip.

Hey thanks for the questions.

At the time of dyno, I was running the standard LIM. I have the SVT with 34/35mm, and 19's, but have not yet installed it.
I will have it in during the week.

I did reset the ECU after I swapped over the UIM. I know for sure, cause I had the bat. unplugged for about an hour as I was swapping the UIM over!

The car is pinking and running slightly lean under part throttle, but under WOT the mixture is good.

The UIM which was max'd only has 30(31)mm primaries and 33/34mm secondaries. The figures vary by about 1mm cause the EH process does not lend itself to perfectlyu boring each port.

I have the SVT cams but the local racing mechanic who I trust to install them for me wants â?¬1000 for the labour. So at the moment, I cant afford to put them in

Ronan,
Thanks..I think that "lip" at the UIM/LIM transition could go a LONG way toward explaining a power drop. Your stock SVT UIM should have worked better as the lip is less/absent. Are you going to dyno again with the new LIM?

I am indeed, but next month I am going to bring down both UIMs and dyno them back to back.
I will do this when the new LIM is installed, but at this time I will only be running on 17 injectors as I wont have the chip installed at this time () and hence wont be running with the 19's.

My 98 SVT UIM has larger bore exit ports than the EH'd standard UIM, so the Standard EH UIM should mate better with what is currently installed (ie standard small LIM) in my car?

hmmm...Ronan, you have ported head, too? You might be out flowing your 17lb. injectors with all your mods. That'd explain pinging and less hp.

Nothing? I'm thinking that may be Ronan's problem, and I'd like to see him get good results...
Any input?
