Last night my engine overheated and so we replaced the thermostat and now the fans aren't kicking in. Also there is a little orange light with like a fan in the middle that is on, on my dash (it's on the bottom left). I don't know what this light means. I'm hoping it's just the relay that's out. please help!

That light is the low coolant light. Check the fluid level and get it to just above the MAX line if its low. If the fluid is where it should be the sensor might be dead.

sounds like my car when the waterpump went my fans would not come on.does it come on when the ac is turned on?if not its probally a relayor the fan itself or maybe a fuse, but if it does sounds like the waterpump is shot my car did the same thing(overheating and fast at that,no fans unless the ac was on,coolant light on,ect)the waterpump is an easy job just take the battery out jack up the drivers side front (jackstands) take off the belt and i think 6 0r 7 10mm bolts some from the top some from the bottom and presto plastic pieces fall to the ground...now just clean and dry the area use some good sealant and new gasket(comes with the pump) and reinstall...hope this helps.pm me if more info is needed...good luck
