I bent the lower arm in my left rear suspension on my CSVT last night when jacking up the car to replace the rear brake pads. I shouldn't have jacked the car on the arm - that was stupid. So now, just a week after getting a 4-wheel alignment, my car is way out of alignment and pulling to the right.

The question is, does anybody know if I have any reasonable chance of solving the problem by simply bending the arm back so it is straight again?

Or alternatively, is it easy to replace one of the lower arms? Can I do it myself? Will I likely need to get another alignment when I am done?

Thanks.

Needs to be replaced. You can do it yourself.

You can replace it easily for about $25, or you can probably straighten yours as well. I did it with a BIG hammer and a vise.

DO NOT even try straightening it. You will never get proper and consistent alignment with an arm that is not true.

Just buy a new one and learn from your mistakes. (this isn't the first time this has ever happened) Do not add to your mistakes.

im sorry but when viewing this topic from main forums i see this:

Quote:

I'm a retard - Bent arm when jacking...

and i thought that is the funniest [censored] i have seen in a while.

no i havent done this repair, but i need to. ly left one looks to be newer than my right one...so i think ill just replace them both eventually. the right one is slightly bent and rusting pretty badly.
